JST ASPIRE Research Camp

Professor Iwai and PhD students Kusuyama, Takeuchi, Miura, and Sommart participated in a research camp organized as part of the JST ASPIRE project.
The camp was held in Karuizawa for three days starting March 12, 2026. During the retreat, they had lively research discussions with leading researchers in the fields of XR, HCI, and computer vision. The camp was organized under the JST ASPIRE project, “Establishing an international collaborative research network on human and spatial augmentation.”
Their presentation titles were as follows:
- Hiroki Kusuyama: Shadowless projection mapping with large-format Fresnel lens
- Masaki Takeuchi: Enhancing Material Appearance in Projection Mapping
- Kohei Miura: Exploring thermal contact potentials for Hand–Object Interaction refinement
- Thanapong Sommart: Target Image Adaptation in Projection Mapping using Learnable Contrast and Brightness
