Professor Hideki Koike from Science Tokyo visited XR Group and gave an inspiring talk.

We were honored to welcome Professor Hideki Koike from Science Tokyo to our laboratory. He gave an inspiring talk on his current research, focusing on the application of Computer Vision and HCI technologies to skill acquisition support.

Title: Foundations and Applications for Skill Acquisition Support

Abstract: Our research aims to develop skill acquisition support systems that enable the transfer of expertise from skilled performers to learners in domains such as sports and musical performance. Specifically, we have worked on (1) reconstructing complete information from spatiotemporally incomplete image data, (2) comparing the differences between experts and learners in a feature space of skills, and (3) developing real-time audiovisual and haptic feedback devices. Using these technologies, we have built training systems for alpine skiing, golf, and piano, which will be introduced in this talk.
